Club Championships 3rd,4th,6th and 7th November 2005

This years Club Championships has been run over four days and the standard of swimming has been excellent.
On the Thursday it all started with the youngsters in the 100m Individual Medley and although their strokes were not perfect each one of them pushed themselves to the limit and all swam fantastic.
Although in some age groups categories there are not many swimmers the standard is high and the future of the Danes Swimming Club looks secure.

In the Boys 8 yrs and under Sam Whitehead won three events and was second in two others to become Champion ahead of John Ceuppens and James Ireland who both won an event each.
In the Girls, Bethaney Cattermole took first place with Nina Bennett in second with Nuala Armstrong in third place. Bethaney won only one event but had entered all the events. Nina won three events but because she didn’t enter the I/M and failed to get any points Bethaney just took overall first place by just three points.

In the Boys 9 yr old category Ellis Frodsham was crowned overall winner taking three events with Sam Smith in second place and Joseph Harper two points behind in third place. This was a tough age group as there were twelve swimmers taking part.
In the 9 yr old Girls race Chelsea Oliver dominated all the events taking maximum points with Lucy Erdmann in second position and Grace Henfrey back in third place. This also was a hard event as there were ten girls taking part.

In the Boys 10 yr age group last years 9 yr age group winner Cameron Fern could only manage third place as Scott Coutts proved to strong and took first place ahead of Patrick Devaney. This was a really hard group as all three of them are really close on their times.
Niamh Brazier was crowned girls 10 yr old champion gaining maximum points. Charlotte Adderley was a close second  with Zoe Dodson in third.

The Boys 11 yr group was contested by just two swimmers, Charles Vickers was first winning two events and second in three others where as Kieran Marsh won three events but only finished in second once as he did not enter the Butterfly. This proved to be costly as Charles was declared Champion by just five points.
In the girls race Sophie Goodwin proved to strong for the rest of the girls but they are closing the gap fast. Alice Henfrey looks the likely challenger for next year by finishing in second place with Elizabeth brazier in third place.

The 12yr Boys event was won by Adam Byron who took maximum points ahead of Elliot Balcombe in second and Callum Harvie back in third place.
In the girls 12 yr age group the title went to Laura Mulligan, as she was the only 12-year-old swimming.

Alex Eyre took the 13 yr old Boys title again being the only swimmer in that age group.
In the Girls equivalent Connie Ceuppens won the three events in which she entered to take 27 points but due to Katie Gyvrkovits winning the backstroke and coming runner up in those races won by Connie she gained 30 points to take the title.

There are no 14 yr old swimmers so new swimmers are required for this age group.

In the 15 yr Boys age Will Ceuppens took the honours, as again he was the only swimmer eligible.
In the Girls race Rachael Jackson became Champion with maximum points from Helen Moxon

In the boy 16 yrs and over Mark Jackson was crowned champion ahead of Jack Carroll and Matt Taylor in third.
Naomi Hopwood claimed the girl’s title with maximum points, as she was the only 15 yr old taking part.

Congratulations to all those who received medals and to every single person who took part to make this year
