Bangor "Diddy" Gala 19th April 2008 On Saturday 19th April 2008 a small, but perfectly formed team travelled across an international border to Wales to compete in the Bangor ‘Diddy’ meet. Having diddy in the title of the meet might lead you to believe that this was not a quality competition, but teams from Liverpool, Chester, Warrington, as well as Holywell had sent their best young swimmers to compete. |

Derby Long Course Meet 26th/27th January 2008 Whilst many of the Danes swimmers were attending the North Mids two of our many outstanding swimmers made the long haul to Sheffield to take part in the Derby Long Course Meet being held at Ponds Forge. |

Swim North West Championships November 2007 Nine members of the senior squad swimmers took part recently in the Swim North West Championships, which is swam in the 50m pool at Manchester Aquatics and is over two days. This is a very tough meet and there was some top class swimmers taking part. |

Chase Open October 2007 A fortnight ago a small group of swimmers from Dane Valley Swimming Club made the trip to Wolverhampton to enter the 4th Roebuck Open Meet run by Chase Swimming Club. |

Speedo League 13th October 2007 On Saturday 13th October the Danes opened their campaign in this years Division 2 Speedo League with a trip to Holywell, with teams from City of Banger, Everton and Alsager competing in the first round. The long bus trip raised the enthusiasm of all the swimmers and by the time we arrived we were ready to kick ass. |

Teaspoon Gala 23rd September 2007 On Sunday 23rd September Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, Sheffield was the venue for the 25th Annual Teaspoon Gala, which over the years many swimmers from the Danes attend. Due to the early start time it is a good excuse for a nights stop over, the kids get to party and the mums get to hit the shops for bargains. |

Derby Open Meet 7th July 2007 On Saturday 7th July a number of swimmers made the trip to Derby to take part in the B Grade open. Start time was a very civilised 12 o’clock so everyone was awake and raring to go. |

Celebration Gala 30th June 2007 On Saturday 30th June the Peak & Plains held its Celebration Gala where all the eight teams that took part compete against each other. The event was held at Macclesfield Leisure centre and we were treated to some excellent performances. |

NW Region Championships 9/16th June 2007 Manchester Aquatics Centre The weekends of June the 9th and 16th, saw the annual North West Region Swimming Championships in the 50m pool at The Manchester Aquatics Centre. The Commonwealth Games Pool is a superb venue and only adds to the anticipation and excitement levels. |

Inter Association 26/27th May 2007 Blackpool After competing in the 2007 North Midlands age group championships in January seven swimmers from Dane Valley were asked to represent the North Midlands in the Inter Association Competition 2007 which was again held at Palatine Pool, Blackpool, on the 26th & 27th May. The Palatine Leisure Centre is an excellent venue hosting an 8-lane pool, electronic timing and a good sound system. The swimmers asked to compete were: - Alice Henfrey, Sammi-Jo Yates, Nina Bennett, Craig Yates, Adam Byron, Scott Coutts, and Joe Harper. |
