8/10/08 So this goes out to Craig… Craig you are an amazing coach and you have been supportive to all of the swimmers, you have put long hard hours into this squad and it has shown from the performances the swimmers have shown!Everything you have done has made a great difference and you are an amazing Head Coach!! From all the girls in your lane! Megan, Alice, Georgia, Sophie, Lizzy, Conwon
28/7/08 Danes stars shining across the spectrum!! I've come over all poetic......From Crewe Diddy to Nationals and even across the Irish sea! Fantastic results. Well done everybody. Tom n Joe - we were all watching you on the internet. It was dead exciting. We were probably not quite as nervous as you and your parents..... but nearly! Congratulations to you all. We are all very proud of you.
Kay, Lizzie and Niamh
ps Where did that Rio guy spring from? He must have had more than his share of weetabix!! pps Bet you're no good at rounders..............
22/7/08 To both Joe and Tom Wishing you all the best at the nationals. Simon, Katrina, Chelsea,Brad and Ellie xxx
From the Fleming-Hughes household go get them Joe and Tom
Well Done Luke Some Awesome results. Hugh
16/6/08 From the Fleming-Hughes house, I am proud to be involved with Dane Valley Swimming Club, we have great Swimmers as you can see for such a small club, Parents are brill but most of all you Craig, Dan, Phil, Erika and all who help in the teaching classes, without your dedication to the Club there would not be one, Thankyou Frances and Josh xx
21/4/08 I have got to go into print and thank the young swimmers for their performances at Bangor on the 19th April. Not only did they give good times, beating club records and bringing home medals, but their all round behaviour and ‘professionalism’ was very clear for all to see. Well done to Ben, Bradley, Fraser and Hannah. Also well done, showing how to prepare and behave at a gala to Tom and Luke. It was a pleasure to be on pool side with them for the majority of the day and the future of the club looks like it is in safe hands. Big thanks to Erika for continuing with their developments. Colin & Mandy
As a very proud parent I would like to congratulate all the swimmers that went to bangor, Fraser,Brad,Ben and Hannah. For a group of such young swimmers (8 year olds) ,they showed fantastic behaviour, outstanding swimming and brilliant team spirit, they did the danes proud. They broke club records and brought home lots of medals. Luke and Tom swam really well also bringing back medals and pb s, but also gave their time to looking after the young ones.Go danes I am sure there is more to come. Also well done to Ellis at Radford 2 4th places in 200 fly and 200im and Silver in 100 fly with a fab time. Sharron
19/4/08 Well done Tom. Your improvement has been spectacular over the last year. I know you will get your NQT if not this year then next year. I was checking the calendar and saw that it was less than a year ago when you went to the Chester Diddy Gala. That was (I think) your first gala outside of a team event and I remember the odd combination of nervousness and confidence that you showed. You are an example to all the swimmers in the club and I know your progress will keep Joe on his toes. Philip
8/3/08 Well done to everyone at the cheshires on March 1st and March 2nd! We all swam with nerves and courage and did our best. Well done to everyone at Stockport today! And did I hear that Luke got his 800m North West qualifying time, Well done Luke! Nina, Ellis, Megan and Joe well done on getting golds in your races. Congratulations to everyone for putting 100% effort into their races. From Scott P.S Thank you Dan and Craig for putting hard effort into all our swims.
22/2/08 Well done Joe and Ellis in your performances at the Intercounty Gala. Great swimming and you did the club and yourselves proud. Still disappointed not to have been selected, but shouldn't take away from some great swimming by you both...catch them if you can! and well done again. The Couttsies
9/2/08 GOOD LUCK to ELLIS and JOE on Sunday when you represent Cheshire at Fenton Manor. We are very proud of you and wish you all the best. Love Sharron, Charlie and Fraser
3/2/08 Why Does Elliot's shirt say EJ EJIT ? Many people have asked why Elliot wears a club shirt with EJ EJIT on the back. It is a memorial to Elliot's cousin who died, 3 years ago, of Leukaemia. When he died Sean was only 2 years old. Sean was Irish and we used to tell him that his two cousins were EJ (Elliot) and Ejit (Harry). It was a bit of a silly family joke but it stuck and when Elliot grew out of his old shirt he asked if he could have EJ EJIT on his new shirt as a memorial to Sean. Phil
18/1/08 Yes Kaye has been answered about time conversions but i will put here both sites that Phil has given us

15/1/08 Everyones doing well keep it up and them new jumpers are ace!! Martha :)
13/1/08 Can I also congratulate all those who swam yesterday. You all did very well in conditions that Hugh Fearnly Whitingstall would consider inhumane for chickens yet alone our children. As a coach it is difficult to pick out particular swimmers without appearing to have favourites but special mention must go to Tom Arkle for getting his north west regional time in 200m Breaststroke and Dawn Andrews getting a magnificent time in her first 800m. As a parent though I can really praise one swimmer. Well done Elliot. 800m club record twice in one day, nearly got the 1500m as well. Took 56 seconds off your 1500 PB and if you were 4 hours 25 minutes younger you would have had North West qualifying times in both events. I was so happy last night when I got home that I couldn't get to sleep until 3AM. Philip
Haven't we been quiet lately?! Nobody's had anything to say for a month - well I've had loads, but it always seems to be me on here so thought I'd keep quiet too! But.....couldn't last any longer. Anway, welcome back Scott - it's lovely to have you back with us. And well done to all the swimmers today at N.Mids. And can anyone tell me if there is a formula to apply to converting long course times to 25m times or is it guess work? Kay
8/12/07 Well come on tell me what you think of the Festive Homepage ? Fran
4/12/07 Good Luck to the Speedo team for the final on Saturday. Sorry we can't be there to support you and sorry to miss out on the excitement! But we will definitely be thinking of you. Swim for your lives!! Kay, Lizzie and Niamh xx

Couttsie 21/9/07 Great Club Champs and presentation evening Franni Come on everyone lets get serious, everyone needs to turn up for Saturday morning training - WHY? - so that we can become the BEST in the NORTH WEST!!! Sammi-Jo:-) 27/7/07 Thank you Craig (coach) for taking the time, giving the commitment and especially having the belief that Craig (swimmer) could go all the way. His 100 swim was awesome and he surprised us all with his time ( 500Th's of a second off next years time). Thanks for everything,Thanks mate, bring it on next year Craig. Gordon,Pauline and Craig Yates
14/7/07 This was a very sad day we lost one of our best friends and a true club member, Lesley we love and miss you terribly, the balcony will never be the same, from now on the club wins for you love and miss you Lesley xxxxxxxx 9/7/07 Blimey Fran - bring me a bucket!! Think you might possibly be an even more "embarassing mother" than I am!! What dya reckon, Josh? On second thoughts - don't answer that! Kay x 8/7/07 Hia guys just wanna say well dun 2 everyone who did Derby we all did great. In the end i got my 1st instead of a speeding ticket! So that made me happy.I hope everyone is happy with their times and medals and i'll see you all at trainin! Niamh sorry but have to say it even though I do the website, but Josh I was so proud of you at Derby, you swam brill with great results , considering you were scared of the Fly and wanted to pull out, I am glad that between Pauline, Colin and Craig you swam it and pulled off a 1st, never done 100 fly before, keep up the good swimming Josh and build on what you have achieved love you from a very proud Mum and Dad xxx Frances Looks like this page is turning into the confessional - must be all the Catholic influence on the balcony!! Kay 6/7/07 I was in the changing room when the accident happened i dont think sammi should take the blame my mum says that i should also so sammi if you have to pay any money i will give you some from my own money mum will not pay as i have been told i have to learn also sorry to danes for this mess Josh FH Thanks Sammi for your apology re damage. That took some courage. It makes a change from the usual "It wasn't me" that is generally heard when something goes wrong! Good for you and I'm sure it can be put right. Kay Brazier 2/7/07 To Phil & everyone at the club My self and other members of the club did a very bad thing at macc leisure centre at the weekend. We were having fun which went wrong and we accidentally caused some damage. I would like to apologise for my part in this. Dane Valley is a great club and we have given it a bad name by not behaving. There is not alot i can do to put it right but i am sorry. At future galas i will try to make sure that Dane Valley are good at swimming and even better at behaving!!! Sammi-Jo 1/7/07 Well done to the squad who came second in the Peak and Plain Celebration Gala. You all did your best poolside and did the club proud. Unfortunately Macclesfield Leisure Centre had to report some damage in the locker room area caused by our swimmers. While the damage is clearly accidental I must remind swimmers that you are ambassadors to the club and should not have been playing football in the locker room area. I am waiting to hear what action the leisure centre want to take and will discuss with the squad during training on Sunday. Phil 27/6/07 Well done Adam on a great 100m Free. Broke that elusive 1min barrier at last. Now lets have a sub 59 sec at Biddulph. Mum,Dad and Victoria 26/6/07 I is da when Big Foot gone unda a minut...innit? Couttsie 24/6/07 hey hey everyone just like tu pop in and say alert alert its georgias birthday on 2nd of jouly o and craigs woops how cud i forget so anyways give a big shout out to them on mondays trainin sessin please xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx luv u all xsophiex 4/6/07 I managed to miss Joe Harpers 50,100, and 200 breaststroke races at Blackpool and Manchester Aquatics. 3 races, 3 golds, NQT's and records galore....awesome!. Let's celebrate this young man, a real prospect, talent, and example to other young swimmers. Go Joe!...catch him if you can! Couttsie 24/5/07 Dear Kaye just read your comments about gagging me on the back row next gala, to stop me falling in the pool. Can't help getting excited especially when she's so near to winning her race. Elizabeth 22/5/07 I would like to say how good it is to see new senior swimmers training at the club recently. As the parent of a junior swimmer, and with a child in the teaching group, it gives them good examples to watch and learn from. Hopefully there has been a warm welcome. When other clubs seem to struggle to retain senior talent we seem to be able to attract at the moment. This has all got to be good for the future - hasn't it? Col Macca 21/5/07 Well done to all our swimmers in the peaks n plains trafford gala yesterday. Some great swims - I suspect Zoe surprised herself - lovely swimming from someone who says she doesn't like doing the galas! (She certainly surprised us as we all thought she was Niamh and Zoe's dad thought she was Georgia- we must learn to keep up with Phil's rapidly changing list). And Dawn - excellent swimming again! We just need to keep her mum off the front row next time or she'll end up in the pool. Wasn't sure whether to watch her or Dawn - exciting stuff!! Must rush for the front seat on the bus next time (or a valium) - the excitement was at fever pitch. Nuala, you were definitely the noisiest! Have to forgive you though coz your swimming was fab. Great to see so much enthusiasm. Congrats everyone. Thoroughly enjoyed it all, again! (Must get a life some time soon) (Don't edit me Fran!) Kay 20/5/07 hia x wel done 2 all the swimmers that took part in the cosaccs gala yesterday *&&* today ! yuu all swam great ! wel done :D alice *&&* sammi xxx 17/5/07 Didn't know about all those great results at the weekend. Too busy having a 'girlie' time in Llandudno with the Danes Babes! Well done everyone. Don't leave us Scott we love you xxx Dear All Great results, keep them coming, we have all settled in well over here, 1st competition mid June so shall know if my training methods are working, the swimmers have taken to me well, they are regularly doing 6000m in there sessions. The morning sessions and getting up at 5am are taking some getting use to. Looks as if you are carrying on where I left you at and still improving WELL DONE. We are missing the curries, but the beer is compensating for that. PS its Autumn over here 18 degrees and sunny, not a bad life hey!!! Best Wishes to all Hugh & Family New Zealand Three Medals Big Foot" Byron, and Sonja with a J ( with her new swimming costume sponsored by Barbie) also won medals for Danes at the weekend. Patrick " friend of Spongebob" and Josh " School Netball Finalist" also made finals and were a credit to the club. Andrew Coutts

Simon Oliver 15/5/07 Many congratulations to Scott for his efforts at the Satellite Open - 7 medals, 2 of them golds, and smashed the 50m Backstroke record by 4 seconds. Nice one Scott! Brilliant! Can't help thinking Luke surname will be MyCanary for ever now though! Kay p.s. Can we talk about St.Mary's winning the netball league today or is this the wrong site? Kay 22/4/07 Website brill, keep it up, all upto date Club news Franni Website is good. It made me laugh. Especially about the 'josh's mum' thing! It was a great gala and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely to see some of our swimmers come in from the cold. I was very proud of my daughters and Georgia. Dawn was good too wasn't she. They all did really well and the atmosphere was great Its fine if comments for website go through you. That's better really. I was just thinking that at times like now, when I, my girls and Georgia and Judith, feel high coz we had such a good time, that it would be nice to post congrats to Phil and certain swimmers we thought were good etc. I did thank Phil anyway and I will email him. But you know what I mean. Well I know you do coz you already do it on the website.
